Talk show host one of first to say something was wrong

THE POWER TO HARM Would the P-I ever have written "The Power to Harm" or would the Wenatchee witch hunt ever have been exposed if it hadn't been for the efforts of Mike Siegel of KVI radio? He exposed abuses of DSHS, CPS and the political power structure, not only in Wenatchee, but also with O.K. Boys Ranch and various other abuses of power.

If I remember correctly, the only thing in the P-I while this was going on were puff pieces praising Jean Soliz of DSHS and saying how overworked and underfunded the agency was. There was excellent coverage in The Wall Street Journal and the Economist, but nothing in Seattle newspapers. Why would anybody subscribe to the P-I when we get better local coverage from national and international journalists?
